Amiciness is recapping the finale of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3. This week we’re finally crowning the next representative of Asia in the modelling world. One final photo shoot, and one final runway will determine who will be this cycle’s Asia’s. Next. Top. Model.

Watch with us at 8:45 P.M. on STAR World to find out who will be Asia’s Next Top Model. Who is going to win all of these fabulous prizes? A Subaru XV STI car, a campaign for TRESemmé, a magazine cover and spread for Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, and an international modelling contract with Storm Models Management in London.

While waiting for the episode, check out last week’s full recap and my picks for last episode. I also posted the girls’ portfolios so far. You may have noticed that I added a thumbs up/down rating at the end of each post. Let’s find out what you, the AsNTM3 fans, thought about the girls making it to the Top 3. As of 7:15 P.M. (UTC+8) tonight, Aimee has a net score of -10 (14 thumbs up and 24 thumbs down), Gani has a net score of -11 (30 up and 41 down), and Monika has a net score of +43 (56 up and 13 down). Monika is still your favorite to win. Let’s see how the girls fare in the finale.

WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. PHOTOS ADDED.

Last time on Asia’s Next Top Model, the top four made their way to a new model house. The girls shot magazine covers for Harper’s Bazaar Singapore, representing one era of fashion. Gani gave an excellent portrayal of the 80’s giving her second Best Photo win. Barbara, with no Best Photo wins so far, is eliminated from the competition. She continues the curse of the Japanese representative finishing just short of the Top 3. Who among Aimee from Singapore, Gani from Indonesia, and Monika from the Philippines will be the girl on top? I’ve never been more ready to find out! Lights, camera, ready, action!

AsNTM3x13 - Dinner with the Judges

The girls are dining with the AsNTM3 judges Joey, Georgina, and Alex at Ku De Ta. Aimee would like to be in Paris Fashion Week, and shared that she tried out casting. Gani wants to be an editorial model. Monika wants to know what to improve on as a model. Joey wants to know more about Monika and be completely open and have a great personality.

What we need with Asia’s Next Top Model is: Who are you? What about you makes us want to know you?

Georgina Mail! The girls need to bring their A-game for their final photo shoot. Gani is upset at her friend Barbara’s elimination instead of Aimee. Gani wants to do well and win for her.

Photo Shoot: Haute Couture

AsNTM3x13 - Top 3 before the Photo Shoot

Monika, Gani and Aimee arrive at the Fullerton hotel in Singapore, where they are greeted by Alex and world-renowned photographer Jean-Baptiste Fort, flying in all the way from Spain. The girls will be shot in haute couture with colonial Singaporean architecture as the backdrop. No commercial, just pure high fashion!

Monika began tentatively and seemed to overthink, but when she changed positions, she suddenly brought great pictures. Aimee had a strong fire during the photo shoot and gave beautiful shapes with her haute couture dress. Gani struggled and didn’t feel confident with her shoot. Alex noted a lack of commitment and creativity. “I think she felt defeated.” But then she turned around and finally got good photos. Alex’s favorite shoot was Aimee’s. She felt that Monika’s was predictable but did turn out great photos. Gani didn’t get as much usable photos.

Georgina Mail! Final runway. Gani is worried since she isn’t as tall as the other two girls. Monika said that runway is her happy place.

Final Runway

The top 3 arrive at the stunning Chimes Hall, where many international designers have staged their shows. The girls arrive to a huge surprise – Joey couldn’t let the girls do the last stretch alone. KB, Franchesca, Melissa, Tahlia, and Barbara are back to join in the runway. All three girls nailed the runway walks. Aimee had a quiet confidence. Monika looked like she owned the runway. Gani overcame her lack of height, and still looked like a high-fashion model.

Deliberation

AsNTM3x13 - The Finale judging Panel

The judging panel is composed of Joey, Georgina, Alex, Harper’s Bazaar SG editor Kenneth Goh, and Nathan Toth from Storm Models Management London.

Monika was commended for her versatility and her being comfortable on the runway. Everyone gasped when she walked on that runway with the flowy blue dress. “Filipinas kill the runway!” Aimee showcased the dress very well. “It felt like I was in a European fashion show.” Alex Perry wants for Aimee to improve her athleticism, for her body to be more defined. Alex: “Gani, I don’t think you’re pretty. … I think you’re beautiful!” Gani is serving strong Asian beauty face in her photo.

The judges discussed not just the girls’ final photo shoot and runway, but also their body of work so far. Aimee had great results this final week, but the judges are wondering why she hasn’t done this excellently earlier on. Monika is a reliable model, but the judges still don’t see the personality behind the model. She lacks, in Kenneth’s words, je ne sais quoi. Gani’s biggest hindrance is her height, but her strong beautiful face would work great in the international scene. The representative for Asian beauty.

Results

Aimee is the second runner-up for Asia’s Next Top Model.

It’s now down to the final two, Gani and Monika.

Monika is the runner-up. Gani is Asia’s Next Top Model.

I like monica to win but they all deserve to win right? They all deserve to be in the top. They made Singapore,Philippines, and Indonesia proud. Win or lose. They will have a life-changing career. So Love don’t Hate.

    I’m a Filipino Btw.

  2. she won because one of the judges is from Indonesia…

    1. lala says:

none of the judges is from indonesia

    2. There is no judges from Indonesia at the Asia’s Next Top Model. Actually, joey Mead King and also Georgina Wilson are the judges from Phillipina. So please correct your opinnion.

  3. edy says:

    Who is from indonesia? James

  4. Is there an Indonesian in that last judging panel? Two are from the Philippines, one from Australia, one from Singapore(?), and one from the UK. Isn’t that right?

  5. I enjoyed this season despite the lackluster selections for photoshoot ideas. This is the best group of contestants so far, and kudos to Georgina for continuously improving as a host. I am a Filipino, but from the start I don’t really see Monika winning the cycle. Her performance reminds me of Anya Kop [ANTM Cycle 10]. She produces stellar photos, but there is something lacking that I can’t put a finger on. Gani being snappy and.. I dunno maybe bitter sometimes, might have worked to her advantage. I’m not totally happy, but I don’t share the same feeling when Sheena won over Jodilly. That is extreme travesty.

Next season please. Kudos to amiciness for great coverage in every episode this cycle.

    1. Aww thanks for joining me this cycle, Allegory!

“I’m not totally happy, but I don’t share the same feeling when Sheena won over Jodilly. That is extreme travesty.” This is exactly what I feel right now. Hahaha.

What were your favorite photo shoot themes this cycle? Mine is the body paint shoot for Subaru.

      1. Anonymous says:

Mine was the Alex Perry’s gowns. They all look gorg. I also love Thalia’s photo that week.

      2. Photoshoots that I like:
-Alex Perry Gowns on a Harness
        -Zalora Fashion Catalogue
        -Body Paint with Subaru XV

        Photoshoots that I don’t like:
-Four Decades of Fashion <–not worthy to be one of the final photoshoot concepts
-Temptations Jewelry <–I don't understand the dark makeup
-Shanghai Beauty Romance <–Good concept, bad execution

        Ups this Cycle:
-Generally good performing models. Although if I can switch the elimination sequence, I could've switched Melissa with KB and Franchesca/Celine with Tahlia.
-Subaru XV as part of the grand prize makes this franchise one of the best in the world.

        Downs this Cycle:
-No international destination, which is such a pitiful situation considering that this is a regional NTM.
-The photoshoot ideas overall is subpar compared to the first two cycles.

        Hopes for next Cycle:
-More participating countries again, like bring back Nepal and India
        -Revitalize photoshoot concepts
-Add more contestants, maybe 16-20. If the episode count is really strict, add more double eliminations
-Philippines will win. Either that or eliminate them early and stop prolonging our agony. Haha.

I think Gani deserve to won all of this. Monika can produce many gorgeous shot, but something is missing from her. Aimee did great on this final shoot, but her portofolio is not as good as the other girls. Before this, i thought Monika won this competition

  7. Monika has a good performance and she could produce gorgeous shots, but something is missing from her
Aimee did great on the final, but her past performance isn’t as good as the other girls.
Gani had problem with her height, but she proves that her problem doesn’t affect her performance on the final. She deserves to won all of this.

  8. i felt so excited during the finale i really hope its time for the philippines to win the most unforgetteble events in asia, but i dis appointed the result . i really believe monika is the most deserved to win the battle. she give everything best for the battle and i really2x appreciate her final photoshoot,.

Aimee or Monika should have won!!!!!!! They did much much much better than Gani. In the runway Gani repeats the same face. And on her pic she looks like a fugly old woman with her duster flying and her panties showing. Gosh.

  10. countrydv1 says:

That is …per Tyra Banks says all the time….the “ugly pretty” photography……which is a high fashion one…… Please don’t tell me you are as naive as Loretta who said before the judges…..I DON”T KNOW WHAT HIGH FASHION IS…… Really and objectively, Gani indeed deserves the winning. She has the X-Factor that those guys from Aussie and UK are looking for through this competition / reality show. … Even some Pinoy fans who are quite objective to see this matter (beyond the enragement they explode due to Monika’s -or Philippines’- loss for that matter) do agree with the judges’ decision on who the winner is…. Congrat Gani…. Please don’t be bitter Pinoys….This is just a relity show, GET OVER IT!

  11. countrydv1 says:

And just to comment on Monika’s Last photoshoot result : she looks tired and dreadful in that pic. And her eyes look dead as well. Probably cause she did not take the good night rest she needed the night before (as what Monika admitted on camera)…….That shows she cannot handle the pressure of this end of competition well, and that is not what an AsNTM winner’s mentality that she should have at this critical point in her life…….

I’M not a filipino. But gani is Just MEH. SHE WILL NOT LAST LONG IN THIS INDUSTRY. AIMEE SHOUL’ve won.

    1. Anonymous says:

I agree with you. Aimee should’ve won right? Team Aimee all the way

  13. jonalyn says:

monika is the best and she have the right to win in this competition.

  14. […] Last time on Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 3, we found out who Asia’s Next Top Model is for Cycle 3. But before we knew that, the models got to have one final photo shoot. It’s a nod to Singapore’s colonial past: the girls had to pose in the midst of colonial architecture while wearing haute couture. Since this is their final 3, I won’t be ranking them anymore. Instead, I’ll point out each one’s pros and cons. Starting with Alex Perry’s pick, Aimee. […]

    monica should win the competion

Monika deserve it , REALLY DESERVE IT
