The Serenity Prayer

Serenity Prayer

I bookmarked the Serenity Prayer on my phone but I think the website’s domain didn’t get renewed. So why not copy and paste it here in the blog right? For everyone’s reference.

The prayer got me through so much stuff. Like that time I failed a subject in college or the time I didn’t get the promotion. Deaths and sickness in the family. The prayer was composed by Reinhold Niebuhr in 1932-33. Imagine that.

What’s good about the prayer is that can apply to any religion. It has the same effect as Desiderata. Hmm. (I should also post that in the blog. We need as much as help we can get especially during this time of uncertainty. The country is getting more and more ridiculous by the day. We all need serenity right now!

Namaste! Pray away.

God grant me the serenity

To accept the things I cannot change;

Courage to change the things I can;

And wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;

Enjoying one moment at a time;

Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

As it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make things right

If I surrender to His Will;

So that I may be reasonably happy in this life

And supremely happy with Him

Forever and ever in the next.

Amen.
