My friends and I have been wanting to do a podcast since forever. Finding a niche has always been hard. Just look at this blog. HAHA. But during the lockdown (and thanks to the Thai BL, 2Gether the Series), we’ve been raving on BL (Boys Love) shows, talking about them in various group chats. On top of that, work from home has become stressful and talking with friends has been such a relief. So, BLT Podcast was born. I think T stands for Talk? HAHA!
For the past four episodes, we’ve reviewed and discussed four Pinoy BLs that premiered on the first half of 2020. Gameboys, Hello Stranger, Sakristan, and In Between. We can’t imagine surviving 2020 without these shows so we would like to recognize and highlight their best parts. As extra as we are, we developed the first Awards for Boys’ Love Excellence (ABLE). Like any award giving body, it starts with nominations. And as classy as we are, we did it Pinoy Big Brother style.

The Awards for BL Excellence
The Awards for Boys’ Love Excellence (ABLE) was founded in 2020 by BLT Podcast aiming to recognize and uphold excellence in the Philippine Boys’ Love (BL) industry. The first ABLE covers Pinoy BL shows released on the first half of the year.
Categories
- Best Musical Production (VOTING CLOSED)
- Best musical number performed by a cast member as part of a scene.
- Best Product Placement (VOTING CLOSED)
- Most subtly and thoughtfully placed product that plants unnecessary purchases in viewers’ minds.
- Best Girl (VOTING CLOSED)
- Most outstanding female actress in a series.
- Best Food Moment
- Most enticing gastronomic scene in a series.
- Best Thirst Trap
- The man and the scene that had viewers hitting the pause, replay and screenshot buttons the most number of times.
- Best Room
- Most aesthetically pleasing, Instagram-worthy room in a series.
Nomination Process
The nomination process was conducted by members of BLT Podcast and is recorded in its fifth episode. Each member has submitted two choices (one weighing a point higher than the other). The submissions were discussed and tallied with the supervision of a third party committee.
Voting and Selection of Winners
Winners are selected through a public poll on the most credible and woke platform, Twitter. The account used will be the official BLT Twitter account. Polls are embedded below. Winners will be announced on the awards ceremony. Schedule: TBA.
