Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 4 Review + Amiciness Picks

Asia’s premiere modelling competition is back for Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 4 in Bangkok, Thailand! The girls wore their gloves and battled it out to be the AsNTM Belle of the Brawl. Who clinched the belt and who got knocked out? Read on for my Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 4 review and how the girls fared in their shoot this week.

Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 4 “The Girl Who’s Got The Kicks” Recap

If you haven’t watched the episode yet, you could read the Episode 4 recap post above. Now let’s look at the Amiciness picks this week…

1. Adela

Adela’s been pretty consistent, always in the top half of the scoreboard. And this week, she gets the coveted and well-deserved FCO. The intensity can be felt through her whole body, but especially in her face. She definitely looks like she’s ready to snatch some wigs!

2. Dana

I don’t understand why the judges didn’t give her a higher score TBH. Her photo with Beauty was good, but OMG her photo with Mia is gorgeous. It’s the perfect balance of ferocious and fabulous.

3. Beauty

Well, what do you know. She finally came alive this week. Still not as great as her first best photo, but this is a definite improvement from the last two weeks.

4. Pim

If we’re just judging by who looks most natural as a wrestler then Pim’s shot would win, hands down. She looks like she was going to land that right punch on Jachin! 😅

5. Jachin

She mentioned in her confessional that she was scared because of Pim’s martial arts background, but I think she held her own. She’s reciprocating the energy that Pim was giving off.

6. Mia

I can’t get over the fact that it looks like she’s punching herself in the head. I would think that wrestling involves hurting your opponent, not yourself, right? 😂

7. Thanh Vy

I’m sorry this is just an awkward pose. It’s like a mix between a taekwondo and fencing pose, and I’m not sure if that martial art has been invented yet. 😬

8. Rubini

Her matador pose from the Swan Lake photo shoot would’ve worked a lot better in this shoot. I think her downfall is that her “fierce” made her look more stiff.

9. Han

Oh sweet Han. She did not look like a wrestler at all, and I don’t even know if she tried.

Now look at all of the girls’ best photos one more time. Tell me if you agree with my ranking in the comments below.

Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 4 Review

This episode was okay. I think the previous episode is more exciting overall.

Spin Cycle 6

Even though I do not understand what this has anything to do with their modelling, it was still nice to see all of the girls having a lot of fun. Can anyone identify the discount-Ke$ha-Tik Tok song that they used? I’m getting flashbacks to Cycle 3’s bargain bin Chandelier theme song! 😂

You GLOW, Girl!

Now, let’s get it out of the way: This photo shoot was definitely inspired by Netflix series GLOW, but they couldn’t mention it in the show. 🤣

It’s been a recurring theme this cycle that I love the concept and production of the photo shoot but I’m disappointed with the results. Some of those slow motion montage shots they use on the show look better than a lot of the photos. I’m not sure if they just don’t get a lot of time in the shoot, the girls aren’t delivering that well, or whoever picks the photos just doesn’t pick the best ones.

The FCO Advantage

I’m liking this mechanic where the previous week’s FCO (first call-out/best performer) gets an advantage coming into the photo shoot this week. Asia’s Next Top Model has done something like this in earlier cycles but I don’t remember if it popped up in Cycle 5.

The twist where Dana’s first pair photo got disregarded made for some short but oh so sweet drama. Hopefully, they continue giving the FCO advantage in the coming episodes. Imagine if the FCO can choose the other girls’ “best photos” to present at panel. The drama! 🙈

Half-way Point Already?

A lot of you might have already noticed, but there are only 8 frames on the Best Photo wall. By now, half of the frames have already been filled. There are still 8 girls remaining. So are we getting only at most 10 episodes this cycle? Will the final be made up of 4 girls instead of the usual 3? Will this show ever have a callback episode? Questions, questions, questions.

BTW, I’m loving the extra content that we get on the AsNTM social media. Some of those videos should have made it onto the show. But I totally understand that the dramatic catfights wouldn’t make too much sense when you see the girls all getting along in real life. 😂 I mean, this video with Mama Cindy is super adorable:

Next Episode

Model mentor team switch-up! Which is only fair because Monika is down to one girl. 😂 The girls’ first individual challenge, with a special appearance by last cycle’s model mentor Cara G. McIlroy. And will Han switch rooms over to the Loud Girls room? Find out in Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 5.
