Asia’s premiere modelling competition is back for Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 3 in Bangkok, Thailand! It’s a Subaru episode! The Top 10 girls got confident in motion for their glamorous third photo shoot. Who moved to the front of the pack and who got stopped in their tracks? Read on for my Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 3 review and how the girls fared in their shoot this week.
Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 3 “The Girl Who Found Her Perfect Companion” Recap
If you haven’t watched the episode yet, you could read the Episode 3 recap post above. Now let’s look at the Amiciness picks this week…
1. Thanh Vy
This totally should’ve been the FCO! I admittedly didn’t expect a lot out of Thanh Vy before the competition. She’s been middle of the pack for me so far. But this photo is perfect. Light, breezy, confident.
2. Mia
Mia’s photo is the best one of the lean-against-the-car-pose photos. She looks equal parts carefree and classy.
3. Adela
Love the shape she makes with that pose. She’s like “I casually walk my dog wearing my Sunday best, with my tallest heels and flashiest earrings. And what about it?” 😂
4. Jachin
I don’t understand where the judges don’t see her connecting with the car. She looks like she owns the car, and she’s just waiting for her chauffeur to drive her to the party. It’s classic and sophisticated.
5. Pim
Though I don’t agree with Yu Tsai’s nitpicking (he doesn’t seem fond of Pim at all), for some reason, this photo looks messy to me. It looks like an outtake, like it was captured while she was transitioning to a different pose.
6. Han
It’s been a recurring comment that she’s been getting these lucky shots. And I’ve liked her last two “lucky shots.” But this one I have reservations with. The smile looks forced, a bit creepy even, plus the hook hand.
7. Dana
It’s not as bad as the judges made it seem. Sleepy eyes with a bit more fierceness. And I don’t understand the ruckus about her moving towards the car instead of away from it like in some of the other photos. Nobody told her on set that she was going the wrong direction!
8. Jesslyn
Un/fortunately, Jesslyn had to be eliminated on the week of her best photo.
9. Rubini
I agree with guest judge and fashion designer Vatanika when she said that her dress carried this photo, because I get nothing from Rubini. It’s again the same chin-up pose for three weeks straight. The judges faulted Jachin’s photo for looking too “old-timey” but this one looks even more so.
10. Beauty
*Sigh*. Look at the dog; even it seems bored with this photo.

Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6 Episode 3 Review
Another solid hour of Asia’s Next Top Model. The editing was ace this episode. Even though the challenge was an Amazing Race type segment it wasn’t dizzying. The show was entertaining from start to finish. #ModelsModelsModels count this episode: 1. 🙌
At the beginning of Cycle 6, I was confused why the show had forgone the “good vs bad girls” narrative last cycle, and instead went with a “loud vs quiet girls” plot. This episode (and the previous one) made me understand that the characters this cycle are being portrayed as a lot more “gray”, i.e. not fully good or bad, than the last one.
With Jesslyn eliminated, it’s starting to look like they’re doubling down on Mia’s being, as Jesslyn says it, “two faces.” That’s at least more interesting than the show instructing the viewer to root for the hero and hate the villain. 😏 Mia’s both (and neither) good and/or bad. She’s a bida-kontrabida (protagonist-antagonist or hero-villain).
Who will she have conflicts with next? Based on the teaser of next episode, there seems to be Adela-Mia drama brewing. Exciting! 😂
Next Episode
It looks like a sports & fitness-themed episode next. And another pair shoot, with the previous FCO Mia getting another photo shoot advantage.
