The official synopsis of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 7, from the official website:
The aftermath of an unexpected elimination continues to shake up the models in the “Bad Girls’ Room” as they dwindle in numbers; and the contestants must fake it ‘til they make it when they are paired up with their rivals for an #OOTD social media task and their first fashion film challenge with a male co-star.
While some girls schemed against their fellow teammates in the challenges, others rose above the pettiness and worked together professionally, even selflessly. In another shocking elimination, the girls learn a heartbreaking lesson on how a team that is divided will always fall. Special appearances by global style icon, Kim Cam Jones, and fashion expert, Rayne Reed.
“A team that is divided will always fall.” Is it the Good Girls? Because another Bad Girl elimination won’t be shocking at this stage, now that they’re down to 2. Surprise me, show!

Last time I asked you who among the Top 9 had your favorite Neutrogena photo, and here are your results:

Cindy still doesn’t think she took a great photo to deserve FCO. Nametha’s sass remains with her final message to the girls. “To Clara: Stop being a baby!” Veronika is stressed about being in the bottom. Dorothy feels like she took Nametha’s spot, so it’s her motivation to knock the girls out on her way to the top. She’s been getting a lot of screentime this early. Elimination, perhaps?
Challenge: ZALORA #OOTD Social Media Challenge
In the morning, Tu suddenly hears music downstairs. There’s a runway on their pool! Girls wearing Zalora fashion walk down the runway. Cara and guest Kim Jones close the mini-fashion show. The girls will be working in pairs.
- Maureen & Clara
- Veronika & Shikin
- Valerie & Dorothy
- Cindy & Tu
Of course the show pairs up those who don’t like each other that much. More drama ensues. The winning pair will take home 12 pairs of shoes: 1 pair for each month the whole year!
Valerie immediately warns Dorothy to take good pictures of her. Dorothy is showing sass, while Valerie is portraying a rich bitch.
“Oh, it’s bad angle, bad lighting.” No, honey [Valerie], it’s just you. — Dorothy
DAYYYYYMMMM!!! The shade! 👀
Clara and Maureen don’t seem to have teamwork. And as usual, Maureen is still not that good at taking photos.
Tu says Cindy doesn’t have modelling skills. Also photography skills. Tu’s roasting Cindy! 😂 Tu wants to show the girl that everyone wants to be. Tu always works her outfit in the challenge but she’s always teamed up with girls who can’t take photos!
Shikin isn’t fond of working with the twins. “But at least it’s not Valerie!” 😂 Veronika is “stealing” Shikin’s pose. Ooh.
In a super quick montage, the girls showcase their Zalora outfits down the runway. What a waste of a runway. We should have gotten a runway challenge, but instead we get another social media challenge.
Challenge Winner: Cindy
Thanks for taking Cindy’s photo, Tu! 😂 A quick product placement showing Cindy shopping on the Zalora app. The “Bad Girls” are in the bottom of the scoreboard. Shikin is doubting Veronika’s score because she just copied her pose. Dorothy: “Girls, don’t be too happy. It’s all about the photo shoot.” Well, mathematically, every point counts.
Photo shoot: ZALORA Fashion Film
Cara and creative director Kevin Ou meet the girls at a beach resort. The photo shoot theme is a cool and cosmopolitan trio of good friends out on holiday at a beautiful island resort. The girls should exude fun and confidence. Teams remain from the challenge. They will have a male co-star. BRB getting ready to researching the male co-star’s name. The male model is Vancouver-based actor, model and photographer Louis Lay.
Tu and Cindy are up first. While Tu is to the side killing it, Cindy is struggling working with the male model.
Valerie and Dorothy are up next. Dorothy is overshadowing Valerie as she continually looks awkward around the male model.
Clara seems to be confused about the brief. They’re supposed to be a group of friends, not flirting with the man! Maureen says that shooting her very first fashion film wasn’t so easy but got better in the end.
Shikin and Veronika started things awkwardly. But when they start acting and pretending to be good friends, it all clicks. While Shikin is shooting her solo shot, Veronika admits that Shikin looked like a pro and wanted to prove her skills too. “I feel like Cara Delevigne,” Veronika adds.
Deliberation
Head of ZALORA Private Labels Rayne Reed is joining Cara, Cindy, and Yu Tsai on this week’s panel. These are the judges’ comments:
Maureen & Clara: Maureen looked lost while wearing the clothes, awkward. Clara, on the other hand, sold the clothes very well.
Dorothy & Valerie: “If that’s what your 3 best friends look like, then I don’t want to be your friend,” Yu Tsai says. There was no joy in the video. They need to commit more and show the emotions that they needed to evoke with their clothes.
Shikin & Veronika: The two of them nailed the film; they looked like two friends that liked each other, even though… not so much in real life. Shikin pulled off her looks, and making Cara wanting to buy it for herself. What joy Valerie lacked, Veronika had in spades in her film, and it was believable.
Tu & Cindy: Rayne comments that Cindy looks “relatable” but needs more commercial appeal. The judges are all praises for Tu for nailing the shoot and quickly. They are worried that Cindy is relying too much on Tu, both on the challenge and the shoot.
Rayne is really getting specific with her critique. I like it! Please bring her back. Cindy Bishop stops for a minute to make an announcement… after the break. There seems to be a twist: double elimination?
Yup, called it. #ExpectTheUnexpected? Not really. 😂 The twins are not ready to be apart from each other. #Foreshadowing
FCO: Shikin
Bottom 3: Cindy, Dorothy & Valerie
Eliminated: Dorothy & Valerie
Call Out Order 👇
- Shikin
- Tu
- Clara
- Veronika
- Maureen
- Cindy
- Valerie/Dorothy
- Dorothy/Valerie
I don’t know if I saw it correctly, but Rayne gave Cindy a 2.0? Did she give the eliminated girls 0’s?? 😝
Next Episode: Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 8
So basically the teaser for next episode is just the girls dissing Maureen’s modelling skills. I’ve watched enough reality shows to know that Maureen is getting the “hero’s edit.” Oh and Tu moves in to the Bad Girls room and the show makes a big deal about it.
Watch out for the next post for a more in-depth look at the girls’ photos and our own ranking for Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 5 Episode 7. What did you think of the episode? Do you think the right girl went home? What was your favorite part of the episode? Sound off in the comments below.

Lol i enjoyed Rayne as well, she gives such good critiques to the models in a way that can actually help them enhance their skills. She also did give Cindy a 2 and Maureen a 3. I guess she might have given Dorothy and Valerie a 0 😂
1. Shikin- undeniably deserved FCO. Everything in their video is flawless and very believable.
2. Veronika- like shikin, she also did a flawless work. Its just that the clip focused more on Shikin than her..
3. Tu- she looks serious at some parts of the clip. On the water splashing part, she looks like she’s having too much fun doing it while the other two are ignoring her. It’s weird, but the rest of her clip were okay.
4. Clara- they looked like bestfriends who would betray each other by the end here. Anyways, she did fair
5. Maureen- one of her smiles looked awkward and not entirely believable.
6. Valerie- i only liked the cloth flapping part
7. Cindy- she just blended in the background. It made Tu the star while Cindy and the male model just the supporting characters.
8. Dorothy- its not that bad. But its the worst among the girls. She looks kind of mean in their video
Her critique is very specific and helpful to the girls. She’s the client, so she knows what she’s talking about for sure. And it’s also her right to give 0 points 😂
Shikin deserved the FCO after weeks of being underrated 🙌
Who is the title pertaining to?
Probably Shikin or Veronika. Because at deliberation they said they had to fake or act like they were friends in the fashion film, though not really close in real life. Then Shikin made it to FCO (it’s about time, might I add!) 😊
I don’t get what they see in Cindy.
why Cindy is cindy still in the running. on prev episode she get help from yu tsai and got fco. in this episode the director even give her more time to get the shoot.
