#Taiwan I Love Taiwan (Day 2)

Day 2- Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village

image

The next day, we walked from our hotel to the cable car station. There, we boarded a cable car to the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. This costed NT$ 600 per head (inclusive of the entrance fee and the cable car). The village is divided into three areas: a) Aboriginal Village Park, b) Amusement Isle and c) European Garden.

At the end of the ride, you have an option to take another cable car straight to the amusement park or walk down and have a tour in the aboriginal village.

Good thing we chose to walk because we got to quickly immerse with the native’s culture, which was a bit similar to our own. Observe the pictures below and see what I mean.

The village is pretty organized. It has mannequins displaying rituals and traditions. The people are so friendly. One even taught us how to greet people using their dialect. “Sabau!” and “Naruwan!” (Correct my spelling. :))

We also got to watch a performance by the aboriginals. It’s all in Mandarin so I didn’t understand any of it. However, I was entertained. The songs are still inside my head. (Ping ping pong pong ping ping pong).

I didn’t get the chance to take pictures of the Amusement Isle since we left our bags in a pay locker. This was one of our only photos. We particularly enjoyed the Caribbean Adventure. This was our first stop. Prepare to get super wet!

The best ride in the park would be UFO Adventures. You will be slowly raised to the top of the tower by a “UFO” and while you’re enjoying the beautiful view of the whole village, the European garden, the mountains, the trees, the fresh air… BAM. You are dropped in the air.

I swear my face was warped by gravity. 😀

The European garden was also spectacular though there’s not much to do there. We did not have time to ride the train so we just took pictures.

We walked back up to board the cable car. We needed to get back to our hotel at 5pm. A private car was bringing us to to Taichung train station. Day 3, we’ll be in Taipei!
